10th Annual NY Celebrity Golf Challenge

The Tenth Annual NY Celebrity Golf Challenge will celebrate its ten year anniversary on June 16, 2008 at the prestigious Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, N.Y., home of the 2006 U.S. Open. This much anticipated annual event will continue to build on its impressive fundraising record which garnered $1,200,000 in 2007 for the mission of Autism Speaks. The golf tournament offers participants the opportunity to play on the Winged Foot Golf Club's two legendary, championship courses alongside a famed celebrity player. Past celebrity golfers have included luminaries from the worlds of sports, entertainment and media.

ING DIRECT Ride Now Seattle

Hundreds of bikers -- including families, friends and supporters who are impacted by autism - will fill the streets in a parade of leather and chrome as they ride to raise much-needed funds for autism research and awareness at the Autism Speaks 2008 ING DIRECT Ride Now Seattle, on Saturday, June 21, from The Christian Faith Center, Federal Way to Downtown Harley Davidson, Tukwila.

3rd Annual Athletes Against Autism Golf Tournament - United States
June 22-23, 2008

Join Athletes Against Autism as current and former professional athletes from around the sports world come together with sponsors, donors, volunteers and supporters for a spectacular fundraising event. Hosted on the coast of California in Santa Barbara, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to interact and golf with athletes from across North America while raising funds in support of the autism community.

Sunday evening, June 22nd, Bacara Resort & Spa is host to a Gala Dinner & Silent Auction featuring sports memorabilia, fabulous vacation and entertainment industry packages and much more. Bacara Resort & Spa is an exclusive resort located on the water in Santa Barbara and features a first-class spa, three pools, tennis courts, horseback riding, beach access and much more.

On Monday, June 23rd, golfers will be partnered with a current or former professional athlete for a round of golf at the spectacular Sandpiper Golf Club. This oceanside course is often referred to as "little Pebble Beach" and is one of the most challenging public courses in California. The day's festivities are highlighted by a number of contests, including Hole-in-One, lunch on the course and a BBQ Dinner & Awards Reception following play.

Athletes who have attended in previous years include Athletes Against Autism co-founders Byron Dafoe, Olie Kolzig and Scott Mellanby, as well as member athletes and/or supporters Stu Barnes, Sinjin Smith, Jim Gott, Eric Karros, Fred "The Hammer" Williamson, Campy Russell, Fred Brown and many more.

Autism Speaks' 8th Annual Potomac 5K Run/1 mile Walk

Autism Speaks' Potomac 5K Run/1 mile Walk has raised more than $1 million over the past seven years. With the help of Race Director and event founder, Susan Pereles, this event has become a part of July 4th tradition in Potomac with fundraising dollars and attendance growing each year. Last year's event raised more than $200,000 with the largest attendance since its inception.

Everyone is welcome, from families who want to walk to professional and novice runners, to take part in a race that is great way to start your July 4th holiday and show your support for the local autism community.

Inaugural Athletes Against Autism Golf Tournament - Canada
August 10-11, 2008

Join Athletes Against Autism for our inaugural fundraising event in Canada. Current and former professional athletes from around the sports world will join with sponsors, donors, volunteers and supporters for a wonderful fundraising event. Hosted in the heart of wine country in Kelowna, British Columbia, this signature yearly event hosted by Athletes Against Autism will feature many current and former NHL stars.

The Grand Okanagan Resort will host a Gala Dinner & Silent Auction on Sunday, August 10th. The evening will include a cocktail hour and silent auction featuring exclusive sports memorabilia, fabulous vacation and entertainment industry packages and much more, followed by a wonderful dinner and program about Athletes Against Autism and the work of its parent organization, Autism Speaks.

On Monday, August 11th, golfers will be partnered with a current or former professional athlete for a round of golf at the spectacular Harvest Lake Golf Club. 2nd Annual Autism Speaks DC Golf Classic
August 18, 2008

The second Autism Speaks DC Golf Classic will be held on August 18, 2008 at the Lowes Island Club in Potomac Falls, Va. This exciting golf tournament will be hosted once more by Gary Williams, Head Coach of Men's Basketball at the University of Maryland. Golfers will enjoy a thrilling day of golf alongside celebrity players all of whom are supporting the important work of Autism Speaks. Last year's celebrity players included former Broncos player Shawn Moore, former NFL player Renaldo Nehemiah and former Baltimore Orioles player BJ Surhoff, among others. The day begins with a round of golf that includes a putting competition as well as numerous course contests and concludes with an evening program features dinner and a live and silent auction. Johnny Holliday, the Maryland Terrapins' play-by-play announcer, will serve as the evening's auctioneer. This event, Autism Speaks' only golf event in the DC area, will look to build on its inaugural success of raising over $150,000 for our organization. The event committee includes David Burruss, Bob Bodell, Ann Gibbons, Johnny Holliday and Coach Gary Williams.
