The Lowes Island Club in Potomac Falls, Va. played host to the Autism Speaks DC Golf Classic on Monday, October 8th. Golfers, including local sports and media personalities, celebrated Columbus Day on the golf course in a day of golf and goodwill that helped raise over $150,000. The exciting event, the first golf tournament for Autism Speaks in the DC area, began with a day of golf followed by an evening program that included dinner and a live and silent auction. The event was hosted by Gary Williams, Head Coach of Men's Basketball at the University of Maryland. Johnny Holliday, the Maryland Terrapins' play-by-play announcer, was the evening's auctioneer.
