The Second Annual Autism Speaks D.C. Golf Classic was held on August 18, 2008 at the Lowes Island Club in Potomac Falls, Va. and raised over $128,000. The exciting golf tournament was hosted by Gary Williams, head coach of the Terrapins, the University of Maryland's basketball team. Over 60 golfers enjoyed a beautiful day of golf alongside such celebrity players as PMI chief economist David Berson; senior government affairs advisor Tom Bliley; comedian Gary Cannon; former NFL players Tony Covington, Ken Harvey
The tournament's overall winners, the TerpSys Team: Kevin Grevey, Bob Hancock, Andrew Hartman, Kyong Sung Kil and Rob Hart
and Ricky Ervins; "Beat the Bogey" creator and motivational golf coach, Dr. Travis Fox; former NBA player Kevin Grevey; broadcasters Chick Hernandez and Johnny Holliday; and Terrapins' Coach Gary Williams. Players competed in exciting course contests before enjoying a dinner program that featured a live and silent auction. Johnny Holliday, the "voice of the Terrapins," served as the event's live auctioneer.
