Run in the 2009 Bank of America Chicago Marathon with Team Autism Speaks
The Bank of America Chicago Marathon has selected Autism Speaks as a charitable partner for the Oct. 19, 2009 event in Chicago, Ill. Team Autism Speaks members will be asked to raise a minimum of $1500 and will receive a race number, team clothing, a pre-race private pasta dinner, bi-monthly training emails, and local training opportunities provided by our partner, Train4Autism.
Train4Autism volunteers help coach individuals who are training for and participating in endurance events while raising funds for autism. Train4Autism was founded by Brian Thompson and Ben Fesagaiga, parents of children on the autism spectrum who wanted to use marathons, triathlons, and other recreational activities to raise funds and awareness for autism.
“We are ecstatic to be able to expand our Team Autism Speaks portfolio to include the Bank of America Chicago Marathon,” said Leslie Chambers, Executive Vice President of Field Operations and Chapter Development for Autism Speaks. “Autism Speaks recognizes that donors and volunteers appreciate the opportunity to participate in an athletic event while raising funds for a good cause.”
