The ensemble cast on stage at The Geffen Theatre
Autism Speaks hosted the sixth annual Acts of Love at The Geffen Theatre in Westwood, Calif. on November 10, 2008. This year's theme was Miracle Workers – the show was a literary and musical celebration of the people who work to make seemingly impossible things happen. Presented by Cadillac, the event welcomed a lively crowd of over 500 to witness an ensemble cast perform an array of readings and quotes all in celebration of miracle workers. The event raised more than $110,000 to support the mission of Autism Speaks.
At this one night only event, the audience was treated to readings of excerpts from Temple Grandin, Einstein and Anne Sullivan, to name a few. Shohreh Agdashloo, Gil Bellows, Marc Blucas, Linda Cardellini, Matt Dallas, Keith David, Peri Gilpin, John Glover, Tess Harper, Sung Kang, Jack McGee, John McCook, Nicki Micheaux, Adrian Pasdar, Julia Sweeney, and Brenda Strong formed a stellar ensemble cast. Nelson Kole led a jazz combo with Nita Whitaker and Amy Keys performing musical numbers woven throughout the stories. As the show came to an end, music filled the theater while members from the cast of HBO's 2008 Emmy Winning documentary "Autism: The Musical" joined the cast on stage and performed songs from the film.
In addition to the inspiring show, sponsors and VIP guests were treated to a celebrity pre-show dinner at Napa Valley Grille – a gourmet delight. All guests enjoyed a pre-show reception that featured Napa Valley Grille passed hors d'oeuvres along with Stockholm Vodka's signature drink of the evening, the Miracle Martini. Festivities continued after the show with Napa Valley Grille presenting an array of artisan cheeses,

Special red carpet guests included Renee Jones and Terrell Ransom ("Days of Our Lives"), Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt (MTV's "The Hills"), Oscar Nuñez ("The Office") and more.
