CIBC World Markets sponsored Miracle Day, a one-day-a-year event at which CIBC (formerly Oppenheiemer) donates all trading fees and commissions to children's charities. Autism Speaks received $100,000 from the event. The funds will be used to support biomedical research to help find a cure for autism as well as autism education, awareness and community service programs. Scavenger Hunt Raises $15,000-Plus

For each of the past four years, guests who have attended the annual N.Y. Celebrity Golf Challenge at Winged Foot Golf Club have also signed up for the annual themed dinner held at the home of Alease Fisher in Greenwich, Conn. This year's event was a scavenger hunt dinner at the Fisher home. The event kicked off with a cocktail party followed by a fall-themed dinner reception. Guests gathered as limos picked up each team and took them to mystery destinations to begin their search for the items on their lists. Once the hunt ended, the groups met back up at home base to trade tales and watch a slide show of their escapades. Vintage Car Exhibition Raises Funds for Autism Speaks

The prestigious classic and vintage car exhibition, the Concours d'Elegance, provided a portion of the proceeds from a raffle drawing and live and silent auctions at its Saturday Night Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony to Autism Speaks, among other charities.
The event was held in Central Park's Wolman Rink in New York City.

Jerry Seinfeld Concert Raises $1.8 Million

A star-studded, sold-out crowd was treated to an unforgettable night of music and comedy at LA's famed Kodak Theater, raising $1.8 million to benefit Autism Speaks. A portion of the evening's proceeds will be donated to AutismCares, a consortium of several leading autism advocacy groups created to help families affected by autism who are victims of Hurricane Rita and Hurricane Katrina. “One Night Only. Concert for Autism Speaks,” hosted by Tom Brokaw, featured performances by Jerry Seinfeld and Paul Simon. Tulsa Wine Weekend

The First Annual Wine Weekend in Tulsa, Oklahoma, was a huge success, raising close to $40,000 for Autism Speaks. The hosts for the weekend were Greg and Tara Hughes, owners of In the Raw Sushi and Ford's Filling Station, and honorary chairs for the event were Betty and Frank Arciero, owners of EOS Estate Vineyards. Auction Action for Autism Speaks
August 1-11, 2005
The Autism Speaks Online Auction, which ran Aug. 1-11, drew 136 bids for an array of exclusive goods and prizes and raised more than $8,500. Among the items auctioned were a Fender Squire Stratoscaster guitar autographed by former Eagles member Don Felder, a New York Giants Amani Toomer autographed jersey, and tickets for Saturday Night Live, Late Night with Conan O'Brien and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
Golf Championship Raises Funds For Autism Speaks

The nationally-televised celebrity golf tournament, The American Century Championship. has raised $150,000 for Autism Speaks. Organizers of the event, which took place in Lake Tahoe July 15-17, had designated Autism Speaks as its charity beneficiary this year and again in 2006.

Seventh Annual N.Y. Celebrity Golf Challenge

Stars from the sports and entertainment industries joined our guests on June 20, 2005, for a round of golf at the Seventh Annual NY Celebrity Golf Challenge, hosted by the beautiful Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, N.Y. In addition to enjoying a day of golf at one of the top golf courses in the country, guests participated in a live auction at the evening gala to raise money for autism education and research. All told, some $805,000 was raised.

Bewitched' Auction Benefits Autism Speaks

A high bid of $5,400 has won an eBay auction for red-carpet treatment at Columbia Picture's premiere of "Bewitched" in New York, with proceeds to go to Autism Speaks. The winning bidder gained the chance to take a limo to the premier in June and later join the after party with the film's stars, Nicole Kidman, Shirley MacLaine, Michael Caine and Will Ferrell.
Autism Speaks Co-Founder Receives Humanitarian Award

Autism Speaks' Bob Wright was honored May 4 at the annual Simon Weisenthal National Tribute Dinner, where he received the 2005 Humanitarian Award. The event, hosted by Tonight Show host Jay Leno, with entertainment by actor and comic Jamie Foxx, drew about 900, including numerous Hollywood luminaries. Speaking of his work at Autism Speaks, along with that of his wife and co-founder Suzanne, Wright said, “I believe we both will be able to say, at the end of our days, that we did our best to be good stewards. We tried to touch some hearts ... and change some lives. God willing, Autism Speaks will change a great many lives for the better in the years to come."
Autism Speaks Exec Accepts Award for CNBC Autism Series

The Foundation for Educating Children with Autism (FECA) presented its media award to CNBC on May 4, citing groundbreaking coverage of the issues of autism education and autism in the workplace. Alison Tepper Singer, producer of the CNBC series "Autism: Paying the Price," and senior vice president of Autism Speaks, accepted the award on behalf of CNBC.
Second Annual L.A. Celebrity Golf Challenge

Celebrity Golf Challenge. The event raised more than $350,000 for autism research and education. In addition to enjoying a day of golf at one of the top 25 golf courses in the United States, guests participated in a live auction at the Evening Gala. Comedy Fundraiser Yield Grants for Schools

A stellar cast of comedians and musicians performed to a sold-out crowd at the Beacon Theatre in New York City on March 7, 2005. Adam Sandler, Conan O'Brien, Jon Stewart, and the cast of Saturday Night Live were just some of the talent spearheading this fundraiser, which raised almost $1 million dollars to benefit autism education, therapies, and services. As a result of the fundraising effort, Autism Speaks was able to provide grants totaling $193,000 to five schools for children with autism.
