(September 12, 2014) -- Ohio Governor John Kasich has added his voice to the worldwide condemnation of a bullying incident involving a suburban Cleveland youth with autism who was doused with bodily fluids by a group of youths as an "ice bucket challenge" prank. Police in Bay Village, where the incident occurred, have identified five teens between the ages of 14 and 17 as suspects.

(July 19, 2014) - The body of Alex Collett, a four-year-old boy with autism was found in Lake Waynoka in Ohio on Thursday evening. Alex's family were guests at the lake when Alex had wandered off near the restroom area at the beach. 10 minutes after the family noticed Alex had gone missing he was found in the water where he had drowned. 

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the child's family and friends.

(May 8, 2014) -- Michael Whary, a boy scout from Amherst, Ohio is hosting an event to spread awareness for autism in his community. On May 18th, Michael along with the help of Boy Scouts Troop 120 will be filming a "Lip Dub" singing the song "Roar" by Katy Perry. Michael's goal with the video is to spread hope and encouragement for individuals on the autism spectrum.

High school football player Jabari Wilson has tackled every obstacle in his path to get to where he is today. The Hilliard, Ohio student-athlete was diagnosed with autism as a young boy and since then he has worked tirelessly to pursue his dream of playing football.

COLUMBUS (Sept. 13, 2013) -- The U.S. Department of Education has directed Ohio to provide ABA for children under age 3 through its federally supported "Help Me Grow" program, stepping into a dispute that is already the subject of litigation.

COLUMBUS (July 1, 2013) -- Gov. John Kasich has signed the state budget bill, which includes an amendment establishing a state certification process for providers of applied behavior analysis (ABA). With this resolved, ABA will be reimbursable when the state's new autism insurance coverage takes effect in 2014.

COLUMBUS (May 1, 2013) -- More than 40,000 Ohio children whose parents are covered under state employee health plans will begin receiving autism insurance benefits July 1 through agreements reached between their bargaining units and the Kasich administration.

CINCINNATI (January 16, 2013) -- A U.S. District Court judge has ordered Ohio to use its federal IDEA funding to provide ABA therapy for a two-year-old boy with autism.

Ruling against the Ohio Department of Health and the Clermont County Board of Developmental Disabilities, U.S. District Judge Michael Barrett rejected the state's argument that it was not required to cover ABA under the federal IDEA Part C program for children under the age of three.
