(August 9, 2014) - The New York Yankees hosted Autism Awareness Day at Yankee Stadium. For this game, the Yankees offered a special half-price ticket offer to members of the Autism Speaks community.  The day started with a pre-game ceremony which honored long-standing Autism Speaks supporters and big-time Yankees fans, the Mojica family.

New York, NY (April 27, 2014) -- The New York Mets hosted their Autism Awareness Day today at Citi Field to help raise awareness for autism. The festivities began two hours before the game started when our families got to take part in a pre-game party in the Bullpen Plaza which included several activities for those in attendance to enjoy.

NEW YORK (February 14, 2014) -- Autism Speaks President Liz Feld today urged New York Mayor Bill DeBlasio to address the problem of wandering by children with autism as he prepares his first budget.

ALBANY (January 10, 2014) -- Governor Andrew Cuomo today signed a bill facilitating insurance coverage for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy for autism by creating a state licensing procedure for practitioners. The new licensing process puts to rest a bureaucratic issue that early last year thwarted ABA coverage under the state's autism insurance reform law.

It has been more than two months since Avonte Oquendo, a 14-year-old N.Y. boy with autism, ran out of his Queens school on Oct. 4. The NYPD received hundreds of leads but have yet to locate the young teen. Now, Avonte's brother, Danny Oquendo, is reporting that the FBI has taken over the investigation.
