Los Angeles Dodgers Host Autism Awareness Game

June 20, 2014 - On Tuesday, the Los Angeles Dodgers welcomed autism families and friends to Autism Awareness Day at Dodger Stadium as the Dodgers took on the\ Colorado Rockies. It was a star-studded, exciting day at Chavez Ravine. Autism Speaks volunteers from Southern California had the chance to take the field during pregame ceremonies and interact with players on the field. Sam Katz threw out the first pitch. Sam and his parents, Dan and Lisa, are regularly among the top 5 fundraisers for the Los Angeles Walk. Also stopping by to hoist the Stanley Cup were the Los Angeles Kings.

On Wednesday, August 15th, the Los Angeles welcomed autism families and friends to Autism Awareness Day at Dodger Stadium.

In attendance were several autism speaks volunteers. One of the shining moments of the game was actually during the pre-game ceremonies when board member of Autism Speaks and Celebrity Holly Robinson Peete sang the national anthem!

Atlanta Braves Host Autism Awareness Day 2013

Atlanta kicked off the month of June with our Autism Awareness Game on Sunday, June 2nd, part of Major League Baseball's partnership with Autism Speaks. Over 250 tickets were sold as families from as far as Alabama came see the Atlanta Braves take on the Washington Nationals at Turner Field. A huge thank you to Walk co-chair Jason Cristal who spearheaded this day of fun at the ballpark!

(April 18, 2012) – Autism Speaks and The Gillen Brewer School teamed up with Major League Baseball (MLB) for the first ever Lead-Off for a Cure dinner gala on Monday, April 16 at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan. The gala raised more than $1.3 million for children with autism and other special needs.
