This is a blog post by Phil Ehart of KANSAS.
As a parent of a child with Autism, I know first hand what an organization like Autism Speaks can mean in finding a cure for this terrible disorder.
Therefore, in planning for the creation of this book, the book publishers, the writer of the song Kerry Livgren, and the guys in the band KANSAS, all felt that Autism Speaks would make perfect sense in receiving a portion of the books sales proceeds.
We are honored that AS joins us in commemorating this very special song, in book form.

NEW YORK, NY (March 31, 2010) -- Autism Speaks, the nation’s largest autism science and advocacy organization, today pledged to continue the battle to end insurers’ discrimination against individuals with autism in Kansas.

NEW YORK, NY (April 20, 2009) – Autism Speaks, the nation'’s largest autism advocacy organization, today asked Kansas legislators to admonish Coventry Health Care of Kansas for its deceptive tactics and absurd claims that attempt to disparage legislation that would end private insurance companies'’ long-standing practice of discrimination against children with autism, and to resolve to support House Bill 2367, also known as Kate’'s Law.

NEW YORK, NY (February 20, 2009) -- Autism Speaks, the nation'’s largest autism advocacy organization, today joined Kansas autism organizations and families in calling for the Kansas State Senate to pass insurance reform legislation (Senate Bill 12), known as “Kate'’s Law.”  Kate'’s Law, would require private health insurance companies to provide coverage of up to $75,000 for the diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorders, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy.
