The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) is hosting a virtual forum on autism spectrum disorders and the environment on Tuesday, April 22 from 2 to 3 pm Eastern. The live webcast will be open to the public and feature a panel of autism research experts who will take questions.

Prenatal Inflammation Linked to Autism Risk

Researchers have found more evidence that inflammation during early pregnancy increases autism risk. The new study found high autism rates among children born to mothers with elevated levels of C-reactive protein (CRP). High CRP is an established marker of body-wide inflammation.
