NEW YORK, NY (June 3, 2009) -- Autism Speaks, the nation's largest autism science and advocacy organization, yesterday joined the Colorado autism community to praise Governor Bill Ritter Jr. for signing into law Senate Bill 09-244, which requires insurance companies to provide coverage of evidence-based, medically necessary autism therapies. Colorado is now the twelfth state in the country to enact comprehensive autism insurance reform.

The bill passed the Senate, following passage and amendment in the House, and now heads to Governor Bill Ritter Jr.'s desk for signature into law.
Denver, CO (March 18, 2009) Autism Speaks, the nations largest autism advocacy organization, today announced its support for Senate Bill 09-244, also known as the autism insurance reform bill. The legislation would require private health insurance companies to cover the diagnosis, testing and treatment of autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
