(January 15, 2009) - The Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee (IACC) met on Wednesday, January 14, at the NIH Neuroscience Center Building in Rockville, MD. The IACC is tasked by the Combating Autism Act of 2006 (CAA), P.L. 109-416, with coordinating all efforts within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) concerning autism spectrum disorder, including drafting a Strategic Plan for Autism Research with budgetary requirements.

(WASHINGTON, DC - June 21, 2007) The Senate Labor Health and Human Services and Education Appropriation Committee today approved full funding for the Combating Autism Act as part of its fiscal 2008 spending bill. Specifically, the bill provides $53.5 million for programs at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Health Resources and Services Administration.

The PSA's will be shown prior each feature film shown at the festival.

NEW YORK (May 16, 2006) - Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) will serve as the honorary chair for the fifth annual Westchester-Fairfield Walk for Autism Research on Sunday, June 4, it was announced today by Walk Co-Chairs Carol Christiaanse, Nancy McCarthy and Alison Singer. The Walks for Autism Research – which will be held in 43 locations across the country throughout the year -- are the signature fundraising events of Autism Speaks, a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing awareness of autism and raising money to fund autism research.
