A 13-year-old Michigan girl who wandered out of her home was found walking on an icy Lake Michigan barefoot by firefighters. Officials say the girl broke away from her mother Sunday morning and left home without shoes. When firefighters reached the girl walking on the frozen lake, she resisted before being carried back to land. She was taken to a nearby hospital suffering from hypothermia but in fair condition.

Five-year-old Malachi, who has cerebral palsy, left his Brooklyn charter school via a door that locked behind him. A man who encountered Malachi in the street walked him home to his apartment building.

Last week, Senator Chuck Schumer announced that the U.S. Department of Justice will immediately allow existing grant funds to be used to fund voluntary tracking devices for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. These devices will be monitored by local police departments and other law enforcement agencies.

Disney’s “Frozen” was a huge hit in theaters and the lead track from the movie, “Let It Go” became a hit on the music charts. The song, originally sung by Broadway star Idina Menzel, was so popular it sprouted different versions on Youtube. Two little girls made headlines with their rendition and Disney even put out an official international version of the song sung in 25 different languages.
