(BOSTON) Sunday was a great day for a run in East Boston and that is exactly what over 2,000 runners did bright and early at Suffolk Downs, where the Allstate Life Insurance Boston 13.1 Marathon benefiting Autism Speaks took place.
The ‘Surf Gods’ were looking down on Montauk today, when a foggy morning turned into blue skies for the Surfers Healing event held at Ditch Plains Beach! Surfers Healing Foundation is a California based group that works with individuals with special needs to give them a unique and often life changing experience in the ocean on a surfboard!

Autism Speaks and Six Flags Over Georgia hosted an Autism Awareness Day this past Sunday, September 8th for more than 100 families. Autism Speaks families were welcomed an hour early to enjoy selected rides free of lines and crowds. Park employees proudly displayed Autism Speaks stickers while the marquee and intercom promoted Autism Awareness Day to all attendees.
Sunday's Boston Globe reports on a clinical trial at Boston Children’s Hospital which is testing the drug rapamycin in children with the genetic condition tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC). Nearly half all people with TSC develop autism.
Autism awareness was in the spotlight at different venues as part of MegaFest, Bishop T.D. Jakes’ three-day faith and family festival which took place August 29-31 in Dallas, Texas.
