Speaks and the Alliance for Stem Cell Research. This educational public forum is part of a series in which CIRM, California's stem cell institute, devotes the first hour of its board meeting to one of the 70 diseases that scientists believe can be helped with stem cell research.

Cure Autism Now co-founder and CIRM board member Jonathan Shestack will be leading this Spotlight and will be joined by CAN Science Director Sophia Colamarino, Ph.D. Anshu Batra, M.D., a pediatrician specializing in autism as well as parent of two children with autism, will also be presenting. The program will focus on the nature of autism, the current state of science related to this complex disorder, and how stem cell research might help us better understand it.
