Autism Speaks is happy to announce the creation of a new website for the Autism Intervention Research Network on Physical Health (AIR-P). We invite you to explore it at www.autismspeaks.org/airp.
Hosted on the Autism Speaks Family Services Community Outreach page (you can navigate to it from there easily using the "AIR-P" tab), the new site features information on the wide range of activities being carried out by the Autism Treatment Network (ATN) sites that comprise the AIR-P Network.

The AIR-P, which was made possible by a grant from the Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB) of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), focuses on the development of clinical practice guidelines and clinical research which will lead to innovative and practical treatments for ASD and associated physical health issues. It also carries out a variety of dissemination activities designed to raise awareness and understanding among health professionals and the wider public about autism and autism-related medical interventions.

The website will introduce you to some of the people and activities involved in the AIR-P. You will learn about the guidelines under development on insomnia and gastrointestinal issues, and current research into nutrition and the management of sleep problems. You can learn how guidelines are developed and find out about future research plans. You will also find out about information and awareness initiatives being scheduled throughout the year.

The website will be continuously updated and new content added as our activities progress and new activities are added. In addition we will be featuring information and advice columns from clinicians about issues important to individuals with ASD and their families.

So, explore today, and check back often.
