Autism Speaks' Dissemination Portfolio aims to translate advances in autism research into real-world solutions for families. Specifically, the portfolio focuses on the dissemination and adoption of evidence-based treatments and other clinical care practice standards into community settings, providing wide accessibility both within the United States and internationally. This involves communication of latest progress in autism science to community stakeholders such as research, service, and public health professionals, healthcare providers and educators, and importantly, to the families touched by autism. It also involves the development and implementation of community-based programs and solutions that reflect local priorities and available resources and capacity.
Autism Speaks clinical programs and initiatives in this area currently include the
Autism Treatment Network and the
Global Autism Public Health Initiative.
Autism Speaks also sponsors
workshops, meetings and symposia to determine timely updates on conveying risk factors to the public and to the autism community.
