The diagnosis of autism is the focus of one of four primary portfolios in the Autism Speaks Sciences Program. The Diagnosis Portfolio will focus in the areas of behavioral and biological methods that will lead to better diagnosis and characterization of the autism phenotypes. For its work on the diagnosis of autism, Autism Speaks develops and manages research grants in the area of behavioral and biological methods of diagnosis, as well as better characterizing the endophenotypes associated with autism.
