Portfolio: Autism Etiology (Causes)
The etiology, or causes, of autism is the focus of one of four primary portfolios in the Autism Speaks Sciences Program. The Etiology Portfolio will focus on the areas of genetics, environmental sciences and epidemiology to gain a better understanding of the causes and susceptibilities involved with autism. Initiatives in this area currently include the Autism Genome Project, the Environmental Factors in Autism Initiative, and the Autism Epidemiology Network.
