Autism Speaks funded 52 new biomedical research projects at a total value of over $15.2 million. The awards cover a broad spectrum of autism sciences, including cognition and sensory processing, diagnostic measures, epidemiology, genetics, language and communication, neurodevelopment, molecular biology, immunology, neuroimaging, neuropathology, physiology and treatment.

All grant applications were reviewed and approved by the Autism Speaks Scientific Advisory Board. Final recommendations were presented to and approved by the Autism Speaks Board of Directors on June 11, 2007.
