How can I apply to become an ATN site?
Autism Speaks'
Autism Treatment Network (ATN) is a collaboration of treatment and research centers dedicated to improving medical care for children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). ATN sites are selected for the network through a competitive grant application process. The Request for Applications for the next round of funding was released March 5, 2010. The RFA solicits letters of intent from hospitals and academic medical centers interested in participating in a multi-site clinical care and research network. The ATN mission is to provide and expand access to a state-of-the-art comprehensive and coordinated medical care model for children with ASD. This RFA is open to both new and existing ATN sites. What types of opportunities are available for researchers?
Patient Registry DatabaseThe Autism Treatment Network supports a Patient Registry of families being seen at the participating ATN centers. The ATN Patient Registry data is currently only available for members within the network, but we plan in the future to make this resource available for use more widely.

Clinical ResearchTo provide additional data to support the development of evaluation and treatment guidelines, ATN clinicians also conduct clinical research projects directly aimed at improving children's health and healthcare.
Researchers interested in collaborating with ATN members on topics relevant to the network are encouraged to contact our
Research Manager.
One of the ATN's most significant endeavors is its participation in the Health Services and Resources Administration's (HRSA) Combating Autism Act Initiatives. The ATN will serve as the
Autism Intervention Network for Physical Health (AIR-P) for this initiative.
AIR-P Network: Pilot Projects on Treatment Research Affecting AutismThe Autism Treatment Network (ATN), through the support of the AIR-P Network, requests applications for two levels of pilot-supported clinical research activities for its network members. Researchers who are not members of the ATN are eligible to collaborate with an existing ATN PI/site. The proposal must be organized, managed and submitted directly through an existing ATN PI/site. Eligibility requirements are outlined in detail in the RFA. Individuals from non-ATN centers interested in developing a collaboration for this RFA, are encouraged to contact the ATN Research Manager: Brian Winklosky at
