NEW YORK, N.Y. (August 17, 2009) – Judith Ripka Jewelry announced that it will join forces with Autism Speaks for a large scale charity partnership reaching 10 million American women who read
Vogue. Exclusively debuting in the September 2009 issue of
Vogue magazine on newsstands August 15, the partnership between Judith Ripka and Autism Speaks invites
Vogue readers to “shop for a cause.”
Attached to a 2-page 4-color insert featuring Shoshanna Lonstein Gruss will be a perforated Gift Card worth $1,000 towards the purchase of a piece of Judith Ripka 18K Couture jewelry and $100 towards the purchase of a piece of Judith Ripka Silver jewelry. There is no minimum purchase required, and 10% of the net proceeds from every purchase will benefit Autism Speaks.
Vogue readers can either bring the Gift Card into a Judith Ripka store, or to a participating independent jeweler to shop or redeem online at
www.judithripka.com. Judith's dedication to Autism Speaks stems from meeting co-founder Suzanne Wright and being moved by her devotion to autism research.
“During an economic time when charitable giving has declined, it is important for all of us to find a way to give back, and I felt it was time for me to create a formal program for what I've been doing informally for years,” said Judith Ripka. “By incentivizing people to shop, I hope to not only raise significant funds for Autism Speaks, but also have people feel good about shopping and re-entering the stream of commerce. And, what better way to connect with shoppers around the world than take out an advertisement in the September issue of
Vogue! A win-win for all.”
