"Autism Speaks has made significant progress advocating on behalf of families affected by autism on numerous fronts including awareness, research, education, and early detection” said Scott Carpenter, president of the Bachman Company. “We are proud to continue to support this important mission."
“We are very grateful to the Bachman Company for its continued support of our organization and its remarkable commitment to the cause of autism advocacy,” said Mark Roithmayr, Autism Speaks president.
The Bachman Company's partnership with Autism Speaks began in 2007, with the placement of autism information stickers on the bags of their most popular pretzels and snacks. The partnership continued in 2008 with the introduction of the Puzzle Pretzel, created to help reach millions of snackers to continue to promote awareness of autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Samples of the tasty Puzzle Pretzel and Bachman's new Treasure Puffs, a gluten-free snack, will be available this year at Walk Now for Autism Speaks events throughout the Northeast.

About Autism
Autism is a complex biological condition that affects a person's ability to communicate and develop social relationships, and is often accompanied by behavioral challenges. A 2007 report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) stated that autism spectrum disorders are diagnosed in one in 150 children in the United States, affecting four times as many boys as girls. More recent studies indicate a prevalence of one percent of children affected by an autism spectrum disorder. The CDC has called autism a national public health crisis for which we still need effective treatments and whose causes need to be better understood.
About Autism Speaks
Autism Speaks is the nation's largest autism science and advocacy organization, dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.
