A Look at Young Adults with Autism in Latino Communities

August 30, 2013

Norma Rubio from NBC News and NBC Latino recently did a story on the Meza family located in Southern California. Rita Meza is a mother of six;  her oldest, Samantha, is a 24-year-old adult on the spectrum. Samantha overcame many obstacles in her life and today is in college studying to become a veterinary technician.

At Autism Speaks we've launched our "Maybe" campaign, a new series of public service advertisements designed to reach African American and Hispanic communities. This campaign was in result of the current age of diagnosis being higher in many African American and Hispanic families. To learn more on the campaign read here.
