Local Shop Builds a Boy with Autism's First Bicycle

(July 31, 2014) -- A local shop in Wisconsin is making a huge impact in the life of Dan, a 10-year-old boy with autism. Shifting Gears, a bike shop that collects unclaimed bicycles and helps fix and sell them made a special bike for Dan to start riding with his friends and family. Shifting Gears modified his bicycle to help Dan with issues he has with balance. 

Dan said on receiving the bike that, "this is the best bike in the world!!!" Claire Roggeveen, assistant manager at Shifting Gears said of the situation, "We think that everyone should be able to experience the joy of riding a bike."
