Inaugural North Carolina WALK

Almost $100,000 was raised through the event!
April 23, 2007

May 10, 2003: NAAR, the National Alliance for Autism Research, not NASCAR, took a lap at Lowe's Motor Speed Way in Concord, North Carolina on Saturday, May 10 for the Inaugural Carolina Walk F.A.R. for NAAR event. Over 500 people came out to raise money for autism research. The participants had a rare opportunity to drive on the Infield, hang out in the garages, line up on Pit Alley, have their pictures taken in the Winner's Circle and start the Walk right where next week's Winston Cup Race will take place. Almost $100,000 was raised through the event. NAAR is grateful to Karla and Tim Newman, Co-Chairs, for starting the NAAR engine in the Carolinas!

The Carolina event is NAAR's second of nine Spring 2003 events. The remaining seven events are:

May 18: Rochester, NY and National Capital
June 7: Greater Delaware Valley
June 8: Pittsburgh, Seattle and Westchester-Fairfield
June 14: Des Moines, Iowa
