On Tuesday, August 24, 2009, the Boston Red Sox hosted Autism Speaks Awareness Night at Fenway Park. An enthusiastic group of top fundraisers and volunteer leaders were honored for their untiring efforts on behalf of Autism Speaks.

father of a daughter with autism, threw out the ceremonial first pitch and five-year-old Andrew Roberts, who has autism, called to the teams to "play ball!"
Autism Speaks thanks the Red Sox organization, and particularly, pitcher Tim Wakefield, for their continuing support and public awareness efforts.
