Autism Speaks Salutes UCONN Coach Jim Calhoun

Autism Speaks salutes UCONN Coach Jim Calhoun for his outstanding support of the autism community and our organization. Coach Calhoun has been an outspoken advocate and leader on autism. He has attended Walks in support of Autism Speaks, speaking to the families and individuals, sharing his personal story and has gone out of his way to raise awareness and funds for this complex disorder. Most notably, you never see him at a UCONN game without his Autism Speaks pin.

Through Coach Calhoun’s support, the UCONN campus has annually supported our Light it Up Blue campaign in recognition of World Autism Awareness Day

Below is a PSA that aired during the 2011 NCAA Championship Game – which UCONN won. Autism Speaks, along with his friends Suzanne and Bob Wright, extend our heartfelt gratitude to Coach Calhoun and wish him the very best in his retirement. We hope the next chapter in his life is as great as the last.
