Autism Speaks Runners take on The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

October 07, 2013

On Saturday, October 5, Autism Speaks ran the haunted streets of Disney’s Hollywood Studios in The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 10-miler. The evening race starts at 10 p.m. and is filled with everyone’s favorite Disney characters. The race attracted over 14,000 participants and so far our Team Up! with Autism Speaks team of 70 dedicated runners has raised over $42,000, and by the end of the year over $60,000 will have been raised by the team. During the evening, Autism Speaks runner and volunteer Rebecca Barnes addressed the crowd, speaking from the heart about why she runs for her son Kadin. No Tower of Terror race is complete without a team ride in the famous Hollywood Hotel service elevator where Autism Speaks runners were joined by family members and volunteers for a terrifying drop to end a fantastic evening.
