Autism Speaks Responds to Claims in the Media Linking Autism Spectrum Disorders to Planned Violence

Autism Speaks senior executives have given interviews to the media to address misconceptions about a linkage between autism spectrum disorders and planned violence in the wake of the tragedy in Newtown, Conn.  Watch the clips below and find links to news stories.

On December 19, Autism Speaks Co-founder Bob Wright appeared on CNN's "Erin Burnett OutFront" with Erin Burnett to discuss the aftermath of the tragedy in Newtown, including the need to re-examine mental health care in America.

 

Peter Bell, Autism Speaks’ executive vice president of programs and services, appeared on Fox5 New York’s “Good Day New York” show on December 17.

Bell was also interviewed for a Fox5 segment entitled "What is Asperger's?"

 

Lisa Goring, vice president of family services appeared on on WVIT-NBC Hartford/New Haven on December 17.
