Art event held for children and teenagers with autism

It's called "Artistic 2,"an event designed to highlight artists affected by autism was held at the Pieters Family Life Center in Henrietta on Saturday.

Talented artists were able to show off their skills on the canvas, some as young as four-years-old.

Kate Clemont is a member of Walk Now for Autism Speaks. She says, "A lot of them have siblings who are 'normal' and they are always in competitions and they are in baseball and they are always getting praised for things. This is purely for them and the art gives them a freedom of thinking and a freedom to express themselves. A lot of the children are non-verbal and they have problems expressing themselves, but they get into the paint, they get the art and the enthusiasm is amazing."
