New York (February 1, 2014) - HollyRod Foundation and Autism Speaks held the first annual Super Kid Honors Pre-Game Celebration! today at Joe's Crab Shack in Harlem. Holly Robinson Peete, co-founder of HollyRod and an Autism Speaks board member joined Autism Speaks President Liz Feld and Joe's Crab Shack President Jim Mazany to host the fundraising event. Saxophonist Mike Philips provided entertainment.
Super Bowl XXXIV MVP Kurt Warner presented the first Super Kid award to Anthony Starego, a young placekicker with autism who waged a legal battle to win another year of high school eligibilty. Anthony's team, the Brick Green Dragons, won the New Jersey state champtionship last year. Read more about Anthony's story here.
Attorney Gary Mayerson, founding partner of Mayerson and Associates and an Autism Speaks board member, who represented Anthony and his family in their football eligibility battle, won a raffle for a pair of tickets to the Super Bowl and presented the tickets to Anthony.
