building awareness of autism spectrum disorders and creating a caring community for individuals with autism. Attendees were encouraged to form coalitions and collaborations to educate the scientific, health, educational and governmental entities in Greece about the need for services, research and advocacy for individuals with autism. ERT, one of Greece's leading television stations, covered the conference, and interviewed Sullivan, who discussed the need for a worldwide autism awareness movement and the hope that Autism Speaks can help to facilitate that movement. Currently, a group of parents, pediatricians, therapists and educators, have formed a committee to address the need for autism awareness and advocacy efforts in Greece.
