Frozen Ropes Presents $25,000 Check During N.Y. Mets Game

Autism Speaks National Director of Corporate Relations Scott Leibowitz accepts a $25,000 check from Frozen Ropes representatives and Mets radio announcer Howie Rose.

Frozen Ropes of Long Island, a premier baseball and softball training academy, presented a $25,000 check to Autism Speaks at Shea Stadium on Sept. 23. The donation, which was presented on the field prior to a Mets game, was based on the number of batters Mets pitchers struck out during the season.

“We feel this is such an important mission that we rounded up the donation to $25,000 even though Mets pitchers fell a bit short of that number,” said Frozen Ropes Managing Partner Chris Mastoridis.

Additionally, Mets radio station, WFAN, announced the totals at the end of each game's broadcast to promote autism awareness and encouraged listeners to visit the Autism Speaks website for more information.
