"An Evening of Purpose" Raises $100,000
On Sunday, June 1, “An Evening of Purpose,” held at the Ocean House in Dennisport, Mass., raised $100,000 for the New England chapter of Autism Speaks. Ocean House owner and a mother of a child with autism, Janet Hart-Barbato, hosted 450 guests for an evening of entertainment, auctions, raffles and culinary delights by Executive Chef Anthony Silvestri. The highlight of the evening was a vocal duet by Kristopher, Janet's son with autism, and singer Pam Pryor.

Tager-Flusberg is currently the director of the National Institute of Health Autism Research Center of Excellence at Boston University and professor of anatomy and neurobiology at Boston University's School of Medicine.
