Scientific Advisory Board Member Named to National Academies of Sciences
John Mazziotta, M.D., Ph.D., a member of Cure Autism Now's Scientific Advisory Board, chairman of Neurology and director of the Ahmanson-Lovelace Brain Mapping Center at UCLA, was among the newest members recently named to the National Academies of Sciences. Dr. Mazziotta has been a member of CAN's Scientific Advisory Board since its inception and is a former board chair. Dr. Mazziotta chairs one of the largest neurology departments in the United States, which last year achieved the distinguished position of being first in
NIH research funding. He established the first Brain Mapping Center at UCLA that today includes all of the methods available to study human brain structure and function.

The National Academies of Sciences bring together experts in all areas of scientific and technological endeavor to address critical national issues and give advice to the federal government and the public. Election to the National Academies of Sciences represents the highest achievement in medical sciences in the United States. We join the National Academies of Sciences in recognizing Dr. Mazziotta's unparalleled contribution to the field of neuroscience, with special gratitude for his contribution to autism research.
