RIDE NOW Raised Awareness and Funds for Autism Across the Country
On Sept. 17 RIDE NOW brought together more than 2,000 people, 1,700 bikes, 150 volunteers, four cities and one wing-eating champion to raise $200,000 for autism research.
RIDE NOW is Cure Autism Now's fundraising and awareness initiative that unites motorcycle riders, enthusiasts and their families in a fun and exciting environment. Although RIDE NOW is a national event, each volunteer committee adds a unique flavor to their local ride.

For example, in Chicago (the birthplace of RIDE NOW) they roasted a 225-pound pig and raffled off a trip to Vegas, a 2006 Harley-Davidson bike, and a quilt made with the pictures of twenty-four autistic children. With 1200 motorcycles, it took them at least 45-minutes to clear an intersection. At the inaugural RIDE NOW Philadelphia - Atlantic City, there was live music, a silent auction, door prizes, and a wing-eating contest with local legend "El Wingador" taking the championship. On the west coast, San Francisco riders passed through some of the most beautiful scenery in the Bay Area before heading to a fun-filled party with a lively band, swanky silent auction, and authentic chuck wagon BBQ lunch for their second-annual RIDE NOW. Los Angeles had a successful second-year RIDE NOW as well, with a crowd-pleasing comedian/grand marshal hosting the festivities, which included a raffle and many fantastic giveaway items.
Every rider in every city went home a winner – not only because of the prizes won, but also because they were part of an impressive event that will continue the ongoing fight to CURE autism now!
