Cure Autism Now Receives Grant from Fougera Cares
Fougera Cares, the philanthropic program of Fougera, a division of ALTANA, Inc., named Cure Autism Now as the 2006 recipient of its annual major grant during a ceremony at the National Association of Chain Drug Stores Pharmacy & Technology Conference in San Diego on August 29. Fougera CEO, Paul McGarty, and Senior Vice President/Commercial Business Operations, David Klaum, presented a $10,000 check to Peter Bell, CAN President & CEO, at the Fougera exhibit booth.
“Fougera Cares provides much-needed resources to support a variety of charitable enterprises working to improve the standard of living for those in need,” Mr. McGarty said. “Cure Autism Now is doing landmark work to address one of the fastest-growing health epidemics in our country, and we are honored to be able to contribute to their mission.”

Fougera is a leading manufacturer and distributor of a wide range of multi-source topical and ophthalmic pharmaceuticals, in both prescription and over-the-counter dosage forms. Fougera does not manufacture or market any products that are used in the treatment of autism.

Cure Autism Now was first introduced to Fougera by parent Rick Kerns, who was the prop master for the show “ER.” Rick worked with Fougera on product placement and discussed his family's personal experience with autism. Rick introduced then CAN board member and star of “ER” Anthony Edwards to Fougera. Edwards later appeared in a Fougera Cares video. Cure Autism Now is grateful for Fougera's ongoing support of our mission to find a cure for autism.
