HBO Purchases Autism: The Musical
Film to Run in Theaters Before Cable Debut

HBO has acquired the documentary film "Autism: The Musical" and plans a limited theatrical release of the film before it premieres on the cable network next year. The film, directed by Tricia Regan, is a dynamic and intimate look inside the lives of several families whose children are autistic. The film follows these children over the course of six months, as they create, prepare and then perform a live musical play on stage, led by an intrepid acting coach who is herself the mother of an autistic child. "Autism: The Musical" premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. A portion of the film's net proceeds will be donated to Autism Speaks.
