Autism Speaks Participates in the 2007 ING New York City Marathon

Autism Speaks was chosen as one of 22 charity partners to participate in the 2007 ING NYC Marathon on Sunday, November 4. The marathon starts in Staten Island on the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and goes through each of the five boroughs ending at Tavern on the Green in Central Park.

This is the second year that the ING NYC Marathon is working with local charities in addition to the 2 official charity partners and the first year that Autism Speaks has applied for entry positions and was selected. With between 37,000 – 38,000 finishers Autism Speaks is delighted to have been granted 50 guarantee entry positions. Each participant is required to raise a minimum of $2500 – we are pleased to announce that we are sold out! The participants hail from all over the country, and two from Canada! Additionally, we have a Celebrity Runner on Team Autism Speaks, Evan Farmer, from TLC's While You Were Out.

Autism Speaks will have cheering stations at designated locations in each of the boroughs to encourage Team Autism Speaks runners – if you are interested in volunteering to help out in any way on Race Day or leading up to race day please email NYCWalk@autismspeaks.org.

Your support is greatly appreciated! For more information visit www.autismwalk.org/marathon.
