Final 2008 Walks Raise Nearly $750,000

Inaugural Heroes Ball Recognizes Chicago's Autism Heroes

Autism Speaks Website goes Platinum
The Autism Speaks website – www.autismspeaks.org -- was honored with a Platinum award, in the “Best Health Content: Consumer Disease Focused Site” category during a special presentation at the Twelfth Annual Healthcare Internet Conference. The E-Healthcare Leadership awards recognize the best web sites of healthcare providers, health plans, healthcare associations, online health companies, pharmaceutical/medical companies, and other healthcare organizations. Autism Highlighted at Human Genetics Meeting
Attendees at the American Society of Human Genetics annual meeting witnessed a dramatic increase in the number of posters and oral presentations pertaining to autism. As evidence of the increasing interest within the genetics research community, a total of ten presentations were devoted to autism genetics – four of them driven by samples from Autism Speaks' Autism Genetic Resource Exchange or collaborations with the Autism Genome Project. AutismCares Supports Families Affected by Calif. Fires 
AutismCares, a consortium of leading autism organizations, is actively seeking to assist families affected by autism who are victims of the California wildfires and invites those families to call the Autism Response Team at 1-888-Autism2 or e-mail autismcares@autismspeaks.org to receive assistance. Families may also apply for support funding directly at autismcares.org. Those looking to assist the relief efforts can donate online here.
