Autism Speaks Special Events Heat up in Winter
Wherever you live, there's probably an Autism Speaks special event coming soon to a town near you. Over the next few weeks, Autism Speaks events will be held in Chicago, East Rutherford, N.J., New York, Miami, and Nashville. Many of these events are hosted and organized by dedicated volunteers, while others are arranged by our national special events team. Read more.
Wellcome Trust and Autism Speaks Hold Joint Workshop
On January 9-10, Autism Speaks, Autism Speaks UK and the Wellcome Trust conducted a joint workshop in London to highlight recent advances in the biology of autism. Researchers from the United States and Canada joined European neurobiologists to present their data in a small forum that included representatives from the Wellcome Trust as well as from the United Kingdom's Medical Research Council, the Sainsbury Foundation, and the Simons Foundation. The Wellcome Trust, based in the United Kindom, is the world's second largest medical research charity, funding $1 billion in research annually. Read a summary of the workshop.
ING DIRECT Ride Now Motors into South Florida
Polish your chrome, rev up your engine and join Autism Speaks in South Florida for the newest ING DIRECT Ride Now event on March 29. Motorcycle riders from various starting points in Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties will travel via several routes and converge at the Pompano Race Track in Broward County. Enjoy performances by Riders on the Storm and The Guess Who, as well as a motorcycle fair. Learn more.
