|

Autism Speaks To Wall Street: A Celebrity Chef Gala raised $1.1 million at Capitale ballroom in New York's Chinatown, where celebrated chefs cooked a four course tasting menu tableside for 380 guests. The gala served as a true showcase for the chefs, including such culinary luminaries as Franklin Becker, Andrew Carmellini, Wylie Dufresne, Eric Ripert, David Waltuck and Geoffrey Zakarian. Ground-breaking Genome Scan for Autism Completed
|
|
The Autism Consortium, a group of researchers, clinicians and families dedicated to radically accelerating research and enhancing clinical care for autism, has completed its first genome scan for autism spectrum disorders. The data will be deposited in the gene bank maintained by the Autism Genetic Resource Exchange (AGRE), a program of Autism Speaks, which will make the data available to qualified researchers. AGRE also provided DNA samples for the scan.

IAN Releases Results From School Day Setting Study
|

Nearly half of children on the autism spectrum spend their entire school day in a special education setting, according to the Interactive Autism Network (IAN), an innovative online project designed to accelerate the pace of autism research by allowing parents to report information about their child's diagnosis, behavior, environment, services received, as well as their progress over time.
