Family Services Committee Announces Grant Program
Autism Speaks has launched a new grant program to fund projects that will enhance the lives of those affected by autism spectrum disorders. Proposals for these family services grants are sought in the following areas: Education; Recreation/Community Activities; Equipment/Support Technology; and Young Adult/Adult Services. Educators, trainers and services providers who work with individuals with autism are invited to apply. Read more.
Autism: The Musical Screens Nationwide
Autism: The Musical has been filling up theatres, picking up awards and garnering standing ovations since its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in April. Autism Speaks is hosting events in selected cities where you can see the film; read more about the documentary and check the schedule for a screening near you.

Inaugural Nantucket Walk Raises Over $340,000
Over 1,000 people participated in the inaugural Nantucket Walk Now for Autism at Jetties Beach on Saturday, August 25, 2007, raising more than $340,000. Following the walk, on Tuesday, August 28, 2007, Autism Speaks Co-founder Suzanne Wright spoke at Nantucket High School's Professional Development Day, and announced the development of an autism resource center at the school. St. Louis Cardinals Host Autism Awareness Night
On August 23, 2007, the St. Louis Cardinals hosted the 2nd Annual Autism Awareness Night at Busch Stadium. Local volunteers and their children were recognized in a pre-game ceremony on the field, during which Cardinals Care presented a $5,000 check to Autism Speaks. Read more.

Autism Speaks National Walk Sponsor Toys “R” Us announced the release of the latest edition of the Toys “R” Us Toy Guide for Differently-Abled Kids.
