Autism Speaks Re-launches Web Site with New Features
This week, Autism Speaks re-launched its web site, with a new design that spotlights more of the organization's expanding activities, while also serving as a nexus of autism news, information and services. Read more and visit the site.

The re-launch marks the debut of The Family Services Database, a powerful new feature for caregivers dealing with the challenges of autism. The database allows users to search all 50 states on a local or regional basis to find a wide variety of service providers and other critical resources. Search now.

Ad Council, Autism Speaks Launch New PSAs
Ad Council Logo The Advertising Council, in partnership with Autism Speaks announced the launch of a new series of public service advertisements (PSAs) designed to raise awareness about autism and to urge parents to learn the signs of this developmental disorder. Scientific Conferences; Staffing Updates

Nearly a thousand scientists, parents and advocates from around the world will gather in Seattle May 3-5 to discuss the latest findings in autism research at the sixth International Meeting for Autism Research, sponsored by Autism Speaks. The meeting will focus on the search for potential causes of autism and better treatments. Read more.

Autism Speaks recently announced the re-structuring of its science department, with a number of science staffers assuming new roles. Organizationally the Autism Speaks science program will be divided into 4 primary workgroups; etiology, biology, diagnosis and treatment. Read more.

The Institute of Medicine recently held a conference on autism and the environment which focused on emerging technologies, new and existing infrastructure, and interdisciplinary research approaches that can help improve understanding of potential environmental factors in autism. Read more.
Autism Speaks Leaders Visit Qatar
A visit by Autism Speaks executives to an international forum in Doha, Qatar, has helped open discussions into an autism program in the tiny Mideast nation. Autism Speaks Co-founder Suzanne Wright and Vice President of Scientific Affairs Andy Shih spoke at the 2nd Annual International Forum in Doha, along with Priscilla Natkins, executive vice president at the Ad Council.
