Autism Genome Project Publishes Results
Earlier this week, Autism Speaks, in conjunction with an international consortium of researchers and participating families, published the preliminary results from the largest-ever autism genome scan in Nature Genetics, a leading research publication. The consortium believes the identifying susceptibility genes will lead to breakthroughs in diagnosis and new treatments in support of families. Autism Speaks Announces Leadership Updates
Autism Speaks has appointed two senior staff members to new positions; Peter Bell has been named executive vice president for programs and services, and Glenn Tringali has been named executive vice president of fundraising and operations. Family Services Developing Online Resources
The Autism Speaks Family Services Committee will launch a comprehensive, nationwide online resource database, providing individuals and families with local resources that will service a variety of needs ranging from where to get a diagnosis to adult services.
