Developing a Great IEP,
with Gary Mayerson
,
(Windows Media Video, ~12 minutes)
Gary Mayerson is the founder of Mayerson & Associates, the first and only law practice in the nation dedicated to representing children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders.

Mayerson & Associates attorneys have worked with hundreds of families in 30 states, and are responsible for a number of important federal court decisions shaping the way the courts look at autism and autism interventions and supports. One of those cases, Zachary Deal v. Hamilton County, was the very first “autism” case to ever reach the United States Supreme Court.

Gary has testified before Congress on the subject of the federal IDEA statute and is the author of How To Compromise With Your School District Without Compromising Your Child—A Field Guide for Getting Effective Services for Children With Special Needs.

Gary is an active Autism Speaks board member and directs the activities of the Autism Speaks Federal Legal Appeals Project (FLAP), a nationwide pro bono initiative at the federal level. Most recently, Gary and a team of attorneys from Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld filed an amicus brief on behalf of Autism Speaks before the United States Supreme Court in Board of Education v. Tom F.
