In recognition of the many families impacted by autism, Autism Speaks is encouraging iconic landmarks throughout the world to Light It Up Blue on World Autism Awareness Day. On Nantucket, we are encouraging everyone to wear blue on Monday, April 2nd, World Autism Awareness Day, and the Resource Center is scheduling several family events throughout the month of April, National Autism Awareness Month.

To kick off the month, we are sponsoring Laughing Pizza, a family musical group to perform at the Nantucket Elementary School
Saturdays throughout April
Read to a Buddy! R.E.A.D. Therapy Dog sessions at Nantucket Atheneum on Saturdays in April. Children read to a Buddy for 20-30 minutes. Please contact Leslie Malcolm, Children’s Librarian, 508.228.1110 for the schedule.
