Description Project RISE addresses three objectives: (1) Identification of paid positions within the hospital that will be filled by young adults with significant disabilities; (2) Expansion of volunteer opportunities that provide adolescents and young adults with disabilities the chance to acquire valuable work experience, and; (3) Connecting patients who are transitioning to adulthood with employment-related resources and community services. Funding from Autism Speaks will help RISE expand opportunities for adolescents with ASD to participate in the summer volunteer program, by allowing them to hire a job coach to provide 1:1 support.
